He Got Bit

By a neighbor's dog! He used to be so afraid of dogs until we got him Sadie (a yellow lab) for his 4th birthday. After we brought her home he just loved all dogs. He goes up to every dog he see's to pet them and we have told him time and time again that you shouldn't do that. Jared even showed him how to go up to a dog with your palm facing them or something. I usually just pull him in the other direction and don't let him go near. So, a couple nights ago I saw someone out our window in front of the apartment and went out there. Sadie followed me to see as well. I see this man walking his dog, Sadie goes toward the rails to smell the dog and the guy let's his dog come close to smell her too. Well before I know it Andon is out there, sees the other dog and say's "hey doggie", sticks his hand through the rails and the dog bites him!!! He starts screaming, I see blood and I start screaming. We go in to take a look and the tip of his pinky finger is GONE! He was so upset saying "Sadie's friend bit me! that dog is guilty, he's a nugget!" We took him to the doctor but all they could do was put him on antibiotics for infection. I guess you can't stitch something that's not there. They had to call animal control to get the information about the dog, to make sure it had all it's shots. It's starting to heal but stills looks a little yucky. Here he is with his finger all wrapped up. Stinky little boy! :)

His doctor called animal control but I am still working on getting information on who this man is. I don't know his name but know what building he lives in. All this guy was saying was "my dog was on a leash." But, you should know the temperment of your own dog and he should have pulled it back when he saw a child near. That's what I think. I know the temperment of my dog. She's very sweet but also very hyper. She's only a puppy. So, I keep her close when others are around because of that.

AWWWHHH! Poor boy! We will be hoping and praying that this doesn't lean him back to fear! I trust it will heal well too!! I am very cautious with my dog. Even though I know she would never hurt a fly, whe is still an animal and especially with children... I don't take chances! Let us know what happens!

Oh my goodness! I am so sorry! Poor Andon! Our boys and the things they go through! Addison is always recounting how he got bit in the lips by a dog and got ten stitches and then fell out of bed and got three more stitches in is lip!! Right after he got his stitches we went back to the house with the dogs and he went right back to petting them! I think our boys are animal lovers no matter what! :) That is no fun though!

I can't wait to hear how his first day of school goes! Take care. love, Christie

Oh My Goodness!! I can only imagine your reaction.
I can't believe the dog actually bit down that hard. That is just crazy! You definitely need to pursue animal control on him.
Poor Andon! What a day.

Oh No he didn't!! This reminds me of our encounter with those nasty killer pit bull or whatever breed they were. I was pretty sure they were going to eat us. So glad he's okay! Love you
