And She's Off

This week Adelyn has started crawling! She has been rocking back and forth on all fours for a few weeks now but hasn't gone anywhere. Then, in the last couple of days she had started crawling backwards and now she's going forward.

She still takes a moment to get going. She'll put her right foot on the ground and not really go anywhere.

Then she'll put her left foot on the floor...

And then she starts to go. It is so cute!! She is also sitting up but I haven't got any pictures of that yet.

Lot's and lot's of things going on around here. My little ones are growing and changing every day. I am just trying to keep up with it all and enjoy every minute of it. :)

I have yet to post about our schooling. So be expecting some fun posts about all that we have been up to and LOTS of fun pics of my boy in first grade.

Using His Eagle Powers

Andon and I were looking through some pictures from last year and came across this one. He said, "I am using my eagle powers!"
(We love Nacho Libre around here. :))

This photo was taken at Crosspoint Church's Fall festival in Nashville, TN. He climbed to the top of this huge hay stack and Jared told him to jump. Of course, without skipping a beat he was off!

Enjoying the View...

We prayed long and hard for this little one.

She was so worth the wait!

Pierced Ears

The day Adelyn turned 5 months old we got her ears pierced!! They look adorable! It wasn't planned or anything, well not that day at least. I had been saying I wanted to have it done between 5 and 6 months. I am not a person who wears a lot of jewelry or make up. I like to keep it pretty simple and natural. But I always have a pair of earrings on. The same pair every day. They are the gift that Jared bought me for having Andon and I love them.

Well we just happen to be in the mall and walked past the store that does it and said let's go in. Once we were in there and asked if they could do it I got a little scared. The girl gave me some papers to sign and initial that I was her parent and that she informed me on how to properly clean and take care of her pierced ears. But as I was signing them I was wanting to back out. I don't like surprises or unexpected things they make me very uncomfortable and nervous. But I got myself together and hopped up in the chair with her on my lap.

Really it was like getting a shot. She cried for about a minute or two and then she was fine. Even Andon cried for a minute or two, precious boy. She hasn't grabbed at them or tried to mess with them at all. They don't even look like new piercings not that I know what new piercings look like. But I would assume a little red or pink and her don't appear that way at all.

Here we are cleaning them for the first time. We have to clean and turn them three times a day for 2 months.

And here they are. :)

5 Months

Our sweet Adelyn is 5 months old today! She is growing and changing so fast! I'm not sure of how much she weighs but I am certain she has gained since last month! :) In the last month she has started to roll over LOTS! She also gets on her hands and knees and rocks back and forth. Little thing is ready to crawl! I remember when Andon used to rock back and forth like that, it was so cute.

She wears 3-6 months clothes and size 3 diapers. Still breastfed only, except for the bananas I gave her twice. I put a piece in a little mesh fruit holder and she sucked it all out! She loved it! I'm going to start giving her rice cereal and some more fruits and veggies this week. Still eats every 3-4 hours during the day and every 4-5 during the night. I am hoping and praying for a longer stretch of sleep at night here soon because this mama is tired!

Everything that is in her hands goes straight in the mouth!! She is drooling quite a bit but I don't see or feel and teeth yet. She just adores her big brother, they are very cute together. He loves to put on shows for her and she just cracks up at him.

We love you so much Adelyn!! You are the most precious little girl and we are so thankful you are ours!

I have a whole other post to write about the fun thing we did today for her 5 month birthday.. So excited to share!! :)

Girl Time!

A couple of weeks ago my niece Briana came over for a visit. I love to have my niece and nephews over for a week or so during the summer. I took lots of pics when my nephew Cody came because it was his first time and I took a few when Briana came but I am so bummed I didn't take any when Jordan came. We did have lots of fun when he came including a little pool party with a few friends for his birthday. Love that sweet boy!

When Bri came this time it was a little challenging. She is the daughter of my sister who is in jail. (She and her brother live with their father.) I think she is really starting to feel the effects of that. She is a precious girl with a tough side to her. So this time around we had a few obedience problems. I decided it best to take her out for some girl time to just talk and have fun. She loved it!

We went to the mall and I let her pick a store to get something special. She chose Build-A-Bear! :) She picked a Hello Kitty and named her Hannah. Here are a few fun pics.

Giving her a bath.

Adelyn saying I want to do this too!! :)

My precious girls.

Afterwards we headed over to the food court for some pizza and time to talk. I love her so much. I always get sad when she has to go home but look forward to our next visit. :)
